There’s no photography rules this time. It’s just a point-and-shoot, There’s no limit and adjustments. Sometimes, you  want to make fun and play shooting a subject and see the test results. I took snapshots  while driving along Eastwood city. This is quick and easy  take which do not require special equipments. A pocket-sized digital camera (Canon Ixus) that I can depend on especially when you are in a different situation.I know that this is not the right place to shoot a subject and more precautions to follow. It’s a reminder that safety first so, I just shoot when the car stops on a heavy traffic. Long and heavy traffic gave me  ample time to shoot my subject. It just happened that a beautiful scene came across my way so,I’m taking the risk of what the result would be. Let’s see! These snapshot looks like a reward of patient effort! ! Finally,This Glittering lights made it more favorable to feel its worth it but, I don’t appreciate my own work. I’m tired and I want to sleep soundly tonight. Goodnight  my dear readers! Thank you for stopping here.

Paskotitap 2011- Christmas Lights and Sounds Float Parade

By on March 6, 2012

On my way going to the supermarket, passing parade float caught my attention. I rushed to catch out, and parked my car on the side street just to take snapshots. Street parking was limited and I’m scared to leave my car behind, my car would be towed away. The Christmas light and sound electric float parade has the power to stopped me along the way. Absolutely, it was my first time ever to see these beautiful floats carrying different movie theme such as; Angry Birds, Power Puff Girls, Captain America, Superman, Kungfu Panda, Hercules, Buzz Light Year and Woody, Toy Story and many more. It was a project of the Rotary Club of Mutya ng Pasig and Ortigas group of companies with the help of School teachers, Barangay and City officials.

All  electric floats was attractively colorful and creative, even the float design and decorations was fabulous. I was so excited to capture some floats and decided to  follow the night parade all the way going to City hall.So far, It was an unforgettable event. To bring home stunning photos of my own is awesome! Let’s get started.

Knowing what to expect, a great crowd along the way. It was crowded that even kids and adults stayed throughout the evening just to watched it Leaving my car behind, I followed the route of the parade blocks away just to get a good spot.

Float carrying the movie theme,”Captain America.”The street cannot accommodate hundreds of people blocking my view to take a shot!

Float carrying the movie theme,”Angry Birds.”

The performers applying their make-up beside the float behind, and I’m more than welcome to take photos with them.

Chinese floats introduced the Chinese animated figures.

As you can see people, These parade got the audience full attention.

Those lavish and elaborate costumes goes well with the theme of the float they are representing.

This is a Kung-Fu Panda Float.

Green Caterpillar

By on February 23, 2012

Oh! It’s a fuzzy worms I found in my garden. It’s a beautiful caterpillars! These caterpillars has the same pattern and color, banded with brightly green yellowish white stripes and dotted black. They have blue eyes and red thoracic legs.I found them crawling and balancing on the same stem of the host plant. They have the same color with the host plant. It seems there’s no give and take as they blocked each others way climbing on top.

Days ago,  I’ve seen both of them swinging and hanging on the surface of small leaf. I remember they were still tiny and light at that time, even a small leaf can accommodate both of them. How wonderful to see immediate changes, they become bigger, fatter and heavier that a small leaf can’t hold anymore. This day is the most disgusting and destructive stage. I hate to see what they are doing now. They spend all time eating non-stop. They ate all the leaves of the host plant. While photographing them, I’ve counted no. of leaves eaten by them, they ate 7 small leaves. What an appetite!

I will continue observing them everyday, checking and following their path so I can get full details of  everyday changes. I’m not going to capture them, I’ll just set them free so they can move around freely. It takes time, 2 weeks maybe, I will note counting no. of days it takes caterpillar to become a real butterfly. The most interesting part, is to see  what happen in the life cycle of a real insect.I’m excited to see changes , Let’s see!  I will wait for the caterpillars to become a pupa, and out of pupa, It will become a real insect. I will wait for these caterpillars to become a beautiful butterfly!

I will give you a follow-up of these soon. I’m still  in the process of gathering full details. I will welcome all comments. Thank you my dear readers.

MIGRATION TIME AGAIN

By on January 26, 2012

RECOGNIZING THE BEAUTY OF THE EGRETS BRINGING ATTENTION TO THE WORLD

Do you still remember the first wildlife  article I have written on this site?It was the ”EGRETS- THE MIGRATORY BIRDS” Part 1-2. What’s the status of the egrets? Once again, it’s time to move. Months after this blog was published, I was still getting requests from readers asking me to pen more in the same vein. As a result of its unprecedented success, I have received numerous emails from students all over the world asking for permission to use material from here in their own coursework, the V- Formation of Birds for science thesis. The permission was only given to be used for educational purposes, and not for commercial or personal gain. When I made my debut in the publishing world in 2011, it was during the month of January.

Soon after, another wildlife article came up.”OWL- THE SILENT HUNTERS OF THE NIGHT’. It was a wonderful story with interesting information about these species. The Coverage of the Migratory birds was photographed by Alex Chan, the Director of Pixel Pro Photography and other Pixel Pro Photography club members,Malaysia. They came up with shots worth publishing. More than sixty  images that will stimulate your appetite to make  your viewing more meaningful.

(Click on images to view larger)

A year after, World seems endless with problems. Egrets started to disappear. Changes of climate effecting these species leaving them less in numbers. It was an alarming rate and the  curious threat is hunting these birds for feather trade. I truly believed, the extent of hunting these epecies maybe much more than what has already been reported and greater in danger to  face extinction. Some egrets living in an area that is heavily affected by habitat destruction and hunting. We are losing wild places and wildlife. The world’s original forest  have been cut down. Other threats; poaching and capturing them for illegal trade.

What are your thoughts on these feathered creatures? They are able to feel the changes in the environment, just like humans, and have a delicate sensitivity to the pollution that is present.I really don’t want them to disappear completely. As a result, the intention behind the composition of these articles is to “Save the Egrets,” with the expectation that this will result in an increase in the population growth of egrets and inspire hope in the minds of younger people. Perhaps, a more promising future for the free-flying birds. The most terrifying aspect of it is that it will almost certainly happen again unless significant steps are taken to prevent it.However, there were times when the efforts made to save people were not sufficient. We never seem to learn from our mistakes and continue to make the same blunders over and over again. This is the reason why the same mistakes are made over and over again throughout history. We, humanity, are the animals’ most formidable foe, and we are also the primary adversary of the natural environment. The activities of humans are largely to blame, which is a horrifying thought in and of itself. What do you think about this, and why?

In the coming years, There will be plenty to worry about when it comes particularly to these migratory birds. They might face the same fate like the passenger pigeons. They vanished, leaving not a single species left on earth. It’s a waste of time to point fingers about who! responsible for their disappearance.

This fresh perspective on protecting the environment for future generations has been developed in order to allay concerns. Now is the time to take action on something. We have a responsibility to safeguard the egrets and inspire others to do the same. A fresh strategy has taken shape! Make sure that nothing like the past happens again. The only thing we need to focus on is finding a solution. We will not be successful in achieving this goal unless we first come to the realization that we can solve any problem we face by cooperating with one another.

Help me spread my message. This should serve as a wake-up call to everyone involved. I just have to keep my fingers crossed that we can all find a way to collaborate in order to save the wildlife for future generations. I really wish that we could set aside some extra time and be reminded of the obligations that we have.I am not going to coerce you into doing what I suggest. I cannot stress enough that I am not intending to impart any knowledge to you by means of the aforementioned creatures. It is up to human beings to ensure the well-being of the animals in their care.We have the ability to make the world a better place to live in and to make the most of our lives if we collaborate with one another. We need to take action right away, and I’m going to do my part. Where do you stand?

The egret in flight.

During the photography session of the migrating birds, members of the Pixel Pro Photography club captured the scenes at the right time and at the right moment, and the result was? Every photograph was breathtaking in its own unique way. What are your thoughts?

I would like to thank  Pixel Pro Photography, Malaysia for providing images and for the kind permission to reproduce all photos. Thank you very, very much

BEAUTIFUL CLOUDS

By on January 14, 2012

Have you ever watched the clouds as it moves across the sky? How wonderful to see changes happen from time to time. It’s an impressive display of natural wonders. The sky is creating special effects. Today, without hesitation, I pulled my camera and aimed at the clouds.I want to capture the white and sharp radiance of the clouds above me. I’m getting sharp details and clear view along the way following the clouds with my camera.I was tempted to do this kind of shooting activity because the formation seems different at this time. The clouds move away very fast as they drifted apart. You are also a part of today’s activity and I hope you’ll enjoy viewing it.

Bright and beautiful!  2 great subjects just appeared, an airplane and a bird crossing with each other. It makes your viewing interesting. I’m now behaving like a professional photographer and a scientist as well. It caught my attention and thought, It would be a nice idea to include it, it makes scene more dramatic.I’m learning now.The sunlight reflection makes it interesting to view it.It was taken mid-afternoon in bright sunlight.

and one more. This is an eye-catching view! There’s a lot of intruders around to make your viewing more memorable. I think, I’m very lucky to have all this, with the beautiful  clouds as well. The clouds moves away quickly fast that made the sky clear and birds flew apart in different direction.

A cotton clouds, It looks like really a lightweight clouds in the sky.

Clouds changes position, formation, direction and colors too.

In doing this activity, I have learned a lot from this. I’m not done yet. I will post the next images with a landscape background. View for more tom.

AMAZING NATIVITY

By on December 12, 2011

It’s 12 days before Christmas and every where you’ll see beautiful decorations; giant Christmas trees, sparkling Christmas ornaments,  brilliant lights, garlands and mangers  are set up in homes, indoors, outdoors, hotels, churches, schools, public places  and literally everywhere but, the best Nativity I’ve seen is the one inside the compound of Meralco. The entire compound was so spacious that it can accommodate everything. I took this shot the night we visited the fantastic place.  The entire place was  very bright and very pretty especially these huge manger. The colors remarkably unique and vivid.

This is the colorful manger of the Holy Family  infront of  Meralco building. These Nativity represents the story of the memorable night in Bethlehem where Baby Jesus was born. It creates spectacular welcome for the coming of Christmas.I was amazed to see this scene. It was a huge towering sight and the sounds of  choral around scents the air and brightens my spirit evenmore to think Christmas is near.See how beautiful it is! The reflections of sparkling lights around appeared to be splendor. It’s wonderful to see Christmas past comes back to life and the true meaning of religious celebration is not forgotten by the Filipino people. For me, Christmas is the best season of the year.It is the season for giving, forgiving and sharing. A season for a get-together gathering for family and friends.

Looking forward to visit this place again night before Christmas. Merry Christmas everyone!
