Winter Sunset of Alishan

By on March 13, 2019

Mesmerizing Winter Sunset of Alishan

We had been told by our Chinese friends prior to us going to Alishan that we must visit Ali Mountain to see the sunrise and the winter sunset late afternoon. The moment I heard it, I was excited as it sounded so appealing to me. I couldn’t wait to see it.

We’re halfway there, the long 4.5 hour road journey going to Alishan, we passed by dangerous cliff-side pathway. When I opened the van window, cold winds blowing through and I’m scared of heights down there. It looks like we’re passing through the edge of the cliff but what amazed me, radiance of bright yellow-orange light reflections brightens the surrounding area. I never expect to see the radiance of light along the way, the length of time traveling, I realized it was already sunset time. I have missed to check detailed information about sunset time of my location but the sky looks favorable. I asked the driver to slow down as it is impossible to stop, we’re passing through dangerous spot but still I managed to capture few photos while inside the van. Of course, not all photos turn out to be this good, these are just a few of the selected ones.

Capturing the Colors of Twilight

It is extremely a rewarding activity to capture the colors of twilight from dusk till dawn. These two great subjects of photography are my timely favorites.

Photography Location: Alishan Chiayi County, Taiwan

Great experience to watch the winter sunset as it descend below the western horizon at the end of the day.

Late afternoon glow.

Sunset with the background of red maple trees.

Alishan’s visit was a lasting experience, I was bit lucky to capture the glorious sunrise and the beautiful sunset.

Summer Sunset

By on March 28, 2017

Manila Bay Sunset

The dramatic view of the sunset in an open sea setting, the location at closer distance from the road, it’s impossible to clear away the sun watchers, fisherman and vendors around but sometimes, they also serves as supporting subject and additional human element in the background.

The best viewpoint is the mellow yellow-orange light with splashes of vibrant colors is ideal, striking rays heading straight forward directly to my position is a big advantage getting easier to focus.

To capture the sunset  is not that hard even if the sunset will only lasts for minutes, work must be done very quickly. The result is not always perfect as expected sometimes, it came out to be very bright and others dull and blurry. I just have to practice all photography measures, Next time, just as to hold my breath before clicking to avoid shaking.

Life and Photography Away from Home

By on December 23, 2014

It was so far but good to reach behind, radically it was a different place to work at, even though, life is too much overloaded but the present location would give back more. When today’s unemployment rate is high, more people leave the country every year in search for a greener pasture abroad. It’s really hard to think how the smartest and the best asset leave home and families behind. Progressively as we’d expect but due to economic circumstances beyond control, sometimes it’s good and often not. So far, many lost their present job, would probably bring them to a certain place where you can find a brighter future ahead. Others, they leave the present situation that actually enjoyed doing it. Somehow, you cannot resist the tempting offers to work abroad, it’s just the right thing to do, to take the chance and grab the opportunity.

Let me share with you the life story of an OFW based in K.S.A  In here, you’ll get survival tips on how to cope up with homesick feeling . Miles away from home means doing everything, a lot of things has to be done to cope with it.

A family friend Mhel Regalado, a Sr. architectural inspector,ABV Rock Group Ltd., K.S.A  later found out that the nature of work is good and might be the dream job for keeps even though, it’s quiet hard to be away from his family, just a bit adjustment thinking the present situation would give back more.

Eventually he did, He was able to cope up to certain blues and gloomy feelings. He even shared some experiences in Facebook. Job actually is not just for money, it’s more on self-satisfaction doing something good  for many. It’s a wide practice of the company that if they think that you are an asset, they will take care of everything. The right direction might lead to a  situation, something that so many people aspiring for.

How to get closer yet so far

He regularly keep in contact with his family. To make the fastest communication using smart phones, emails, messenger, skype, using laptop to keep up to date on everyday activities. The biggest expense probably is the plane ticket back home…

Mhel on weekend adventure, Seeing any smile on his face, He looks happy.

Working abroad is hard and full of stress. Doing his own laundry, Mhel cooks his own meals and ”baon” to work. They take turns going to market and cook good food with fellow housemates.  A fair share of expenses in doing marketing and all of that, I believe, if you are really determined, there’s always time to do things you really want. There’s always a way…

After work and before bedtime is a regular free time goes online social life in Facebook. One hobby he loved most is photography. Illustration-Hard Work And Great Effort

By on September 3, 2014

Photo Illustration: (Click on image to view larger) A small boy carrying a big orange which is much heavier than his own weight, this illustration shows a heavy load and this is your mission!

The question is, Are you prepared to take challenging role to fulfill your vision? Is there any hope for a purpose? Absolutely yes! Develop yourself earlier is a good foundation. All resources: energy, talents, patience and determination are gifts given to you by God.

Hold your vision firmly and make the most of it. Don’t waste time and energy, do it while you are still young. Don’t mind discouraging situation when life falls apart, never get bored, irritated and impatient. There wasn’t one thing that is negative.

However, the desire to make it better would be a lot of planning and preparation. Always remember what dad says, ”Don’t just finish, do it well, you’ve got to work harder Son. Parents always encouraged children to go to school and do well, they even stretched their budget in order to give you the best things in life, they always make certain that they were always involved in any aspect of school. so, why not give 100% to every endeavor throughout your life?

Lastly, The providing power is your fighting spirit because everything has to be done quickly and finish before the sunset…..

Note: The picture illustration of  a boy carrying an orange is my own photography, I have used one big orange to complete the process for interesting views, I took it while making Fruit crafts and carvings in the past intended for food blogs. I guess, it would be more interesting to use my own fruit carving and shots for inspiration quotes, poems and reflections.

Sky Viewing with Muntingia Calabura or Aratiles Flower

By on September 12, 2013

My habit keeps my mind active and physically occupied for a day. Photographing these wildflowers Muntingia Calabura has something to teach as well. This is just a short lived wildflower, it will only stay for a day and I just have to shoot it immediately before the sucking insects will arrive that it may caused discoloration.

The first bloom is lovely white in full sun although it was really small but, with fine quality once you’ll seen the result. This kind of flower may not be available during rainy season, they bloom more this time and less continuously.

Previously,I’ve published the first part of these images with the black background as it was glowing in the dark. I’m very passionate to do these things in the morning. Here’s the shots taken from day to day activities.
