Last week, Tuesday Sept.10, 2019- 6 PM Mario de Rivera, a Filipino Asian modern and contemporary painter celebrated the Grand Opening of his One-man show, he picked Art Lounge Manila as the new venue for his solo exhibition to showcase his expertise and art creations. People gathered to see the artistic expression, it offers everyone the richness of visual experience.
Other respected names in the field of arts and close to a hundred friends, art collectors and relatives came to be a part of the event.
The highlight of the exhibition includes; Hand draw cheers of Champagne toast, Mario de Rivera speaks on a range of inspirations, Ballet duet live performance and a projection screen slide show featuring the impressive paintings of his son, Lorenzo. Artistic talent really runs in the family. Perhaps, Lorenzo’s artworks would soon be as popular as his father.
Mario de Rivera is already an established artist. Since then, he has had multiple solo exhibits, he exhibited his works in different galleries and joined group shows here and abroad. His work has been offered at auction multiple times. Year 2003, de Rivera won the Excellence Award at the 2003 Beppu Contemporary Art Exhibit in Japan competing with more than a thousand entries from all over the world and in July 2000 as Manila Finalist of Phillip Morris Award.
