STUNNING CHRISTMAS TREE

By on January 9, 2013

A scene of holiday delights, purely adorable that will surely warm your hearts.Photographing the stunning Christmas trees  around the city is my  own way of   welcoming the entry of yuletide season. I’ve some good shots taken from the year 2011 and the newest was last year of 2012. All you can see here are the glittery fabulous accents, elaborately decorated, and some traditionally trimmed handcrafted ornaments  hanging on the branches of Christmas trees.

Taal volcano, world’s smallest active volcano. The volcano is surrounded by water.(Click on image to view larger)

The view of  Taal lake with Taal volcano within. It’s a dreamy land that creates a romantic atmosphere especially for lovers. It is known for its  natural beauty. When the sun is up, the blue sky creates a stunning scenery especially with the presence of electric blue clouds and flocks of  birds gliding above. It is a perfect place for bird sanctuary too.

The greenery side,it is surrounded by mountains, vast vegetation of pineapples and sunflowers, not to mention the clear and clean water of the lake. Anyway, there is no place in the Philippines that does not have mountain of any kind.

Dry season started last November, this is the perfect time for you to visit Philippines.Come and experience the amazing beauty of my country,Philippines. There are many beautiful places waiting to be explored. Our land is rich in history and culture.

Note:  I took this picture during my third visit to this place and it is intended for you !  ! It was taken during our countryside visit last week in Tagaytay, one of the coolest place in the Philippines. For more beautiful scenery in Tagaytay, Check my next post soon.

ARTIFICIAL BACKGROUND IMAGES

By on December 10, 2012

Today, An idea hit me! What about using an artificial background ? I learned this idea from a good friend who happens to be a professional photographer of Daily magazines. I just discovered that photos can be taken using techniques too.Previously, I have applied to a tree sparrow and thought it will also works for the honeybees. Using artificial background is just as deceiving your sight too. I’m aware of these. I know it will not come out to be a natural but, I want to try all sorts. It was an easy trick! See if it works, I’m worried what the result would be…..

Check my previous post for more…

    BLOGGER AS A PHOTOGRAPHER

How did I do it?

Oh well,Got 3 A’s photography here. 3-A’s  stands for Awful, Annoying and amazing photographs. The idea was simple and easy.I tried hanging colored cardboard, some printed piece of magazines and colored art papers just behind the flower. All i have to do is to wait for the proper timing, waiting for the coming of honeybees to pollinate the said flower. It does not take longer since the bees keeps coming back many times to pollinate it again and again. At times, backing off to give ample time for the honeybees to get used to the presence of the light colored board.

The result is good as well as funny and annoying ! What do you think?  I was able to get good shots and wasting some too. There’s no harm trying,I can just correct my funny trial and error game! In photography, you can cut major body parts accidentally without even knowing it.You can cut the head, sometimes  one arm is missing ,sometimes, head is present without the body. It was all part of learning.

The result of images taken, It works for some, but, not as good as expected. Others are just good to reward my effort. The good thing about this experience,It was easy,no editing needed,no important piece of equipment needed,no interchangeable lenses,no tripod and you can even use  a pocked-sized camera which is more lighter to handle to turn quickly fast to the left and right.

Blogger as a Photographer

By on November 14, 2012

Last summer,It was too hot and it makes me tired to photograph all my scheduled subjects.I took a snap in the morning, just before lunch time and continued to finish all the way through.Everyday is just a practice, being hopeful the sky is clear and the wind will not blow. Bright blue sky  gives  a brighter color. There were times when the wind blows, the petals of the flowers drifted away, that would be very disappointing for the honeybees to pollinate it.Having these flowers that supplies food in the form of a nectar and pollen is good for the pollinators.I’m glad that our own garden provides the right flowers to attract different kinds of insects such as: honeybees,  butterflies, dragonflies, worms, etc.

I’m not a photographer but, I’m one of the persevering few seeking suggestions from pros! I can honestly  say that If you love good images of nature and life,no matter if you are a pro or not! We have the same thing in common. We are all interested to give justice and to contribute to the beauty of nature. However, Photography for me is more than a hobby, I need quality images for blogging purposes. What do you think? It would be interesting to read an article with complete illustration, pictures, short texts that will help you understand what I’m talking about. It’s my own way to lessen the words hence, making it shorter and understandable.

Luckily, I’ve collected some good images, hence, giving me more interest to continue my hobby but, I got bored of the same subject and color of my surroundings. I feel like there is something missing,  the image itself is not a good result.I got tired of my existing photos and wasn’t happy with it anymore.

My interesting subject of science, ‘The Honeybees as an agent of pollination.‘It’ fun to bond with my  morning visitors in the garden.I can just simply include myself as an extra here!

Today, An idea hit me! What about using an artificial background? I learned this idea from a good friend who happens to be a professional photographer of Daily magazines. I just discovered that photos can be taken using techniques too.Previously, I have applied to a tree sparrow and thought it will also works for the honeybees. See if it works, I’m worried what the result would be.

How did I do it?

Oh well, Got 3 A’s photography here. 3-A’s  stands for Awful,Annoying andamazing photographs. The idea was simple and easy.I tried hanging colored cardboard, some printed piece of magazines and colored art papers just behind the flower. It does not take longer since the bees keeps coming back many times to pollinate it again and again. At times, backing off to give ample time for the honeybees to get used to the presence of the light colored board.

Now, let us check the result. If you find it annoying, well, as I’ve said, it’s a part of learning! I want you to know that these website of mine is the right place to comment, you can raise all your concerns and  suggestions. You can even criticize it,I swear! I will welcome criticisms as long as you’ll do it dramatically graceful cause it hurts. LOL!

Check the 2 images below.

The Honeybee at sunrise

The Honeybee at sunset

Using artificial background to both images, To compare both photographs of the sunrise and the sunset, Is it noticeable? According to some viewers, it creates a dramatic atmosphere.

This is a dreamy land for the honeybee.I have used a printed material behind the flower for a brighter background.

The start of spring

The garden setting, and again, I have use a garden background from a colorful page of  the magazine.

The honeybee together with the dinosaur. Its hard to to position the dinosaur image behind. It looks strange, isn’t it?  Note: View more images next post.

Halloween Night, The Power of Darkness

By on October 30, 2012

The creepy characters are very busy wandering around for their next victim and tonight, means  business.

I just started photographing horrible images 3 days ago for my Halloween edition and I’m happy to feature and share it with you. It’s something that the kids would love for a trick or treat?Get the trick for tonight but, don’t forget to keep your lights on for the whole night. My creepy and horrible images is suppose to be fun for everyone, but, take the risk and responsibility to view it.

Others, they share the dreams to find unbelievable creatures. Some articles published about the find, but I think, it is beyond the realm of reality until proven about those findings? One eyewitness account, one of these horrible creatures does exist.I’ve been following the strange story because of curiosity and avid interest to know more about it.They even identified it to be real with basis of information and proof of  photographs, althought, it has been ignored and questioned by many.It has been terrifying to be real one. The chance and discovery to find one is rare. Is it a fact? or it’s just a tale of  myth and legends? To the scientist out there,Is there any clear proof about horrible creatures?

But, for now,What you can see here is a fake  model of a real life monsters, Yikes! Goosebumps! Capture your own imagination, innermost fears and fantasies.Which one is your choice? Which one scares you?Whatever,Just shake, rattle and roll!

Bird Grooming

By on October 26, 2012

To start the day the same way like humans do,the tree sparrows grouped and groomed themselves early in the morning for a cleaning session. It’s a health habit, generally,a daily routine practice that produces a clean and healthy impression for them. They clean themselves by preening their feathers with their beaks to remove the dust, pollen, ticks and fleas. Good grooming for birds is a sort of a dry cleaning spa.

Just like humans, getting the help of the beautician for manicure, pedicure, hot oil and hair re-bonding that you can relax, be clean and be beautiful. How long will it takes ? Golly! For the tree sparrows, it takes about 3 minutes for a regular basis. However, after the feathers wet from rain,it takes longer than expected, almost 3 minutes to clean them.

I’m enjoying watching their grooming movements but, I have developed a strange feeling, I feel itchy to see them scratching all over. It seems to make them cool as the days gets longer and warmer. Here’s some images on how birds clean themselves.

The physical changes before and after the bird grooming

(Click on images to view larger)

Numbers of  tree sparrows fluttered. Before the cleaning, they sang among the high branches of  the dried Chico tree, but, it seems they are restless and untidy.

This is how tree sparrows clean themselves. This is an itchy movement.

After the cleaning. Looking smart and presentable. Their feathers are shiny and well-trimmed.Because of my kind treatment to these birds, giving them feeds everyday, they became rapidly tamed.

GRAY WAGTAIL

By on October 18, 2012

Our frequent visitor everyday; the tree sparrows and the gray wagtail birds. They come everyday for a red treat! The Manzanita tree will provide the fruit treat,a sweet red fruit that they enjoy. Being familiar with them, gave me the opportunity to get closer without using blinds to deceive them.It was just a natural thing with their free will  to get in touch with me closer than expected. It seems, they are already used to my presence everyday but, what irritates me most is the noisy sound they produced,It sounds like a rattle shaking with hard stones inside. It was really very annoying and, disturbing to the brain. Despite these things going on around, I will consider to get  some few shots today. I was inside the bedroom photographing through the window for a close range. I was even fascinated with the outcome of the close-up shots. It was natural in color. This is the good thing of being familiar with the birds behavior and activities. I don’t need to trail their time and location, they are very near to my sight. Gray wagtail bird is one of the most common bird in the Philippines. It is distinguished by his gray color and the long tail that wags. Just a few close-up shots!

STRIKING SUN RAY THROUGH THE FLOWER

By on October 16, 2012

Flashing of the sunlight

How wonderful to see the brilliant lights of the morning sun.The light of the day has different amount of colors. Major colors when mixed together, blending into each other such as; yellow, red, orange, violet, indigo and blue. It produces vibrant and vivid colors especially when it strikes into an object. Check the images taken lately, Observe the sun ray striking the flowers. The flowers absorbs the light and it came out to be gorgeous especially when the colors are separated just like the color blending of the rainbow.Although, the orange and violet colors are more visible compared with the other colors. Check my next post for more striking sun rays.

REFLECTIONS THROUGH CAR SIDE MIRROR

By on October 2, 2012

When it comes to road trip,You’ll see spectacular scenery comes along the way. To keep my boredom away, I have photographed  scenery through the car side mirror. The reflection through is good. It’s obvious that the driver is in charge, and I was beside entertaining myself  getting spectacular reflections while the car is in motion. I just love the Toyota Innova, It’s  spacious and has a bigger chrome side mirror that makes me comfortable to point my camera through the right side. Not to mention the cool air ceiling conditioning system. For me,It’s the best choice! Here’s the first shot taken along the way using the reflections on the right side of the car side mirror.
