MERALCO VISIT

By on December 19, 2013

DSC03392 What a glorious night! We arrived home late last night. Me and my sister visited Meralco compound to check what’s new for this year 2013. Everything was totally the same as last years presentation, only half of the compound was lighted, the only ones present;  Giant Christmas tree, the Chapel, Native houses, 3 Wise kings, Tsu-tsu train, Holy family (Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus) to name a few.  That means, I can only document what was there at present. I realized, I feel comfortable to capture what was there, not too many people around unlike during Christmas eve, it  was jam-packed with people. According to the guard, they will light everything this Christmas eve. Oh! I would be missing half of it. I need to come back again in days time until completion is done.

PASKOTITAP 2013- CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AND SOUNDS FLOAT PARADE

By on December 17, 2013

My 3rd year to witness and follow the annual parade, Paskotitap Christmas Lights and Sounds Float Parade last Sunday at the same venue, in front of SM Hypermarket. From here, parading all the way going Pasig City Hall for the dance competition. I missed these part, I was already tired after photographing all the floats. The entire venue filled with too many people and overcrowded. I can’t control the flow of crowd to move a little bit. They took time appreciating every float.

Just like the past years 2011 and 2012, It was a project of the Rotary Club of Mutya ng Pasig and Ortigas group of Companies with the help of Participating schools, Barangay and City officials. All floats represented 13 different movie theme Disneyland such as; Hello Kitty, Esmeralda, Puss in Boots, Tinkerbell, Despicable me, Cinderella, Rio, Turbo, Iron Man, Bug’s Life and Turbo. What a superb choice for other floats ! They have a good choice to pick up feminine side on ”Cinderella and Tinkerbell. Those lovely ladies portraying the roles of the said theme were amazingly beautiful. The costume was so glamorous and it was almost perfect! I guess, the costume was costly, huh!

Let’s check all 13 floats and see the result of the event last Sunday! Of course ! it’s gonna be Night Photography shots. The parade started to move around 6 pm.

The night event was well-organized.The Rotarians and sponsors really worked hard lending surprises and for the students to participate and show their hidden talent in dancing.

In the Philippines, you can just imagine, after the super typhoon ”Yolanda” and the destruction. How about the negative issues about our country? The gossip about here and there, non- stop everywhere. We are certain not to lose Christmas spirit, we still continue to focus to what we are doing for the goodness of life, no matter how many ”Yolandas” and ”Ondoys” come to our lives, we got a positive outlook and believe to continue with our hopes and dreams especially Christmas time is a season of sharing and entertaining. So far, I’m online to share a bit of entertainment for you. Click all photos to forget the burdens of life. LOL!

My Holiday greetings to everyone! Merry, Merry Christmas to all !

Note: I forgot the name of the last 3 floats. I’m sorry…

It’s good I was able to shoot some pictures in advance for storage. I know, this time will come, I can just retrieve all pictures to my storage and post it.It’s easier when you planned earlier and getting ready all the time. Here’s some green background photos! Have a happy Sunday everyone!

Beehive

By on November 8, 2013

I’ve discovered a sticky beehive inside the tall rocks in the garden. This is a natural beehive and not a man-made.I was amazed to see for the first time a great number of young honeybees inside the beehive. This is where the stinging honeybees stored their wax cells for rainy food. I’m just curious about their nesting areas. One thing I loved about bees behavior is they know how to adjust to certain environment, they collect honey during dry days and save it. Just a way of getting ready ahead of time.

Beehive is  dark brown in color, sticky and very shiny. The visible structure is durable, good enough to protect the young honeybees inside the hole. With too many holes in uniformed sizes, other holes appeared to be full of honey and some holes for the nesting site of the young ones.

With this discovery,I’ve completed the full version of my articles, It’s all about honeybees, their everyday routine as an agent of pollination, body structure, my morning bonding with honeybees as my subject of photography  and many more… Just don’t forget the importance of what has been contributed previously, my attempt to disturb this honeybees for five minutes in order to take few shots. I’m a honeybee lover and I never plan to drive them away.I will just let them stay behind and let the future takes its place.

I was even surprised to see queen bee making honeycomb. The wax secreted in order to make this certain structure.

Sunny sheltered position in order to get a good view. Quiet tough to move the beehive away from the nesting area. The proper timing,to wait for the mother bees out to pollinate the flowers around is the right time.

If you click the close up, you’ll see the young honeybees still inside the holes. Just wondering, how  a small stinging insect can produce a beehive much bigger and larger than their own size.

Other parts has unfinished portion and broken off. I think the construction is still going on.

Today, morning sky is a bit cloudy with slow rain showers, unlike yesterday that it was clear and sunny. It’s good I was able to photographed  few subjects in the morning. Aw ! You’ll see the result of my photography done yesterday. It’s photography addict, LOL ! I just need these images for blog posts, not necessarily picture attached is important but, with the presence of images related to the topic, you’ll understand what I’m talking about and what is being described. Problems will only exist if the sky is cloudy, the result would be much better with the natural light of the day. I wasn’t aware of the  weather condition about weather forecast. Sometimes, It is supposed to be cloudy but, it turned out to be sunny and vice-versa.

Nowadays, it is really unpredictable. I just have to make  few adjustments of my time. Earlier shooting in advance would be better,I’ll take the opportunity to shoot more during hot dayPhotography practice is already a part of my everyday life. Here’s my subject for today, A flowering plant bearing tiny fruits in an apple green background.

Note: I’m still doing my research. I don’t have reference book  about flowering wild plants.I don’t know the name of these flower. What I can remember, I bought these plant during my visit in Tagaytay city. I can’t remember the name anymore. Next post soon.
